Years in the Making

Simple Bright Lights has helped Huber Heights create a city tree-lighting experience for several years. Depending on the venue, that has meant wrapping existing trees or building light trees with strands draped from a central pole.
When the city opened its new City Hall, it planned a dedicated gathering area for a much larger official Christmas tree. The city supplied the new 40-foot artificial tree, but its equipment could not reach the full height and its team wanted an experienced partner to help coordinate, assemble, and illuminate it.
The assignment extended beyond the tree. During the city's transition between buildings, Simple Bright Lights coordinated the holiday layout while Sign Service Pro supported the tree assembly and installed lighting on both the new and former City Hall properties. The tree required approximately three days of field work, followed by another two and a half days for the building lighting.

The Complication
Fresh concrete. Winter weather.No room to miss the date.
The tree arrived across several pallets: tightly packed branches in cardboard boxes and a frame bundled into multiple sections. With no prior experience assembling this model, the crews first had to sort the components, determine the sequence, build the frame, shape every branch, and test the lights as the tree rose.
Because the City Hall site was so new, equipment could not move onto the fresh concrete until just days before the scheduled ceremony. A cold spell then brought snow and ice, coating the tree and slowing work that already required care at height.

The Finished Result

On the morning of the ceremony, team members returned for final preparations and a complete lighting check. They finished in time for the city's scheduled celebration that evening.
When the countdown ended, one push of a button illuminated the tree and City Hall together for several hundred residents gathered with food trucks, games, and entertainment.
